Between 300°C–400°C, its strength and elastic modulus decrease significantly.
At around 600°C, steel loses almost all its load-bearing capacity.
Therefore, metal structure workshops or buildings with fire safety requirements must use fireproof insulation coatings.

Common protection methods include anti-rust coatings, hot-dip galvanizing, and regular maintenance.
